Sharing Wheels offers bike classes open to the public. The goal is to give people the skills to work on their own bikes – as well as to train future volunteers who can help in the shop. Classes are for adults, age 18 and up.
Basic Bike Mechanics
This is the perfect class for those wanting to learn how to keep their bicycle on the road, all in one night. The one-night class covers:
- Basic bike care
- Flat tire repair
- Brake adjustment and pad replacement
- Derailleur shifting and adjustments
Bring your own bike or use one of ours. All tools provided. Class size is limited to 6 students maximum.
Class date: Wednesday March 29 or April 26, 6:00pm to 9:30pm
Cost: $35; must be prepaid to secure spot in class. No refunds if participant cancels less than 7 days prior to class.

Advanced Bike Mechanics
This class if for those who want to get into the heart and soul of their bike. Learn the terms for parts of the bike and how to evaluate their condition. Learn about the bearing systems and how to overhaul them. Demystify the cable systems and get your bike running smoothly.
Bring your own bike or use one of ours. All tools are provided.
Cost: $100 (plus parts if needed). Must be prepaid to secure spot in class. No refunds if participant cancels less than 7 days prior to first class.
Length: 12 hour course
Class Size: Limited to 4 students, so sign up early.

Call first to make sure we have a spot. Your place is not guaranteed until we receive payment. You can send a check via “snail mail” to our street address, use our PayPal account, or come by during open hours with cash or check.
