Christmas House Bikes

Sharing Wheels has had a long-time partnership with Christmas House in Everett. Our goal each fall is to fix up 100 kids bikes for the low-income kids they serve.

Volunteers needed now

You can come work on bikes anytime during shop hours Wednesday through Saturday, or during one of our special kids bike work parties:

 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday Nov. 3, 10, 17

11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday Nov. 6 and Nov. 13

You might fix a flat tire, put on a new bike seat, clean off dirt, or give a bike a tune-up, if you know how. Its a great chance to learn or practice some basic bike mechanic skills, and a good way to get on Santa’s good list.

Donate a good bike

All the bikes we work on are donated by the community. If you have a kids bike in good condition – still rideable and shiny – bring it by the shop during working hours.

Rusty, broken bikes take too much time and money to fix.

Even free bikes cost money

We put about $1,500 worth of new parts(tires, seats, handlebar grips) and more than 380 hours of volunteer labor into fixing 124 bikes for Christmas House last year.

BIKES Club of Snohomish County has been a long-time supporter of Sharing Wheels. This year they donated $1,000 toward the cost of parts for Christmas House.

BIKES also sponsored a work party by buying pizza and promoting it to their members.

You or your group are welcome to contribute to the cause. Come to a work party or donate cash to support our programs.
